“It’s time to get your adventure on,” says the sign. These words perfectly capture the spirit of Stubbers Adventure Centre. It is a place bursting with laughter and fun.
Stubbers Adventure Centre has a rich history. The earliest reference to the estate was in 1334. It was once a stately home known as Stubbers. William Stubber owned the house in the 15th century. The house was demolished in 1955. In 2011, the grounds transformed into the Stubbers Activity Centre.
In the early 17th century, William Coys, a botanist, lived here. He created a walled garden that later supplied plants for Kew Gardens. In 1604, a yucca plant bloomed here for the first time in England.
Sir William Russell bought the estate in 1689. He commissioned Humphry Repton to landscape the gardens. Repton advised removing the Coys garden.
Today, Stubbers Adventure Centre offers over 35 activities. These span land, air, water and motor activities. You can try climbing and archery. Off-road driving and canoeing are popular. Jet skiing, sailing and laser tag provide even more excitement.
Stubbers is a non-profit. They strive to keep prices low. This ensures everyone can participate. The staff are helpful and great with kids. People with disabilities have a brilliant time here. The 4×4 driving is usually a big hit.
Imagine feeling the wind in your hair. Envision the water on your skin. Embrace the thrill of something new. Create awesome memories with friends and family.
