The story of Strandmøllen is intertwined with the Drewsen family. In 1718 Christian Drewsen acquired the mill. Under his son Johan Christian Drewsen it became the leading Danish paper manufacturer. The family’s success led to the construction of a grand residence nearby. This home designed by Niels Sigfred Nebelong became a hub for prominent Danish literary figures.
