Can you imagine a place where city life meets the charm of a farm? Right here, by the serene Sodenmattsee, nestled amidst the social housing estates of Huchting, lies the Stadtteilfarm Huchting e.V.. The Stadtteilfarm Huchting e.V. was born from a dream in the early 1990s. People recognized the need for a space where the children and youth of Huchting could play, learn, and grow. The streets were not enough. They needed an alternative. This dream took flight in October 1991. As part of a German television series called, “Now or Never”, the Stadtteilfarm Huchting e.V. became a reality. Since then, it has offered local kids and teenagers a chance to connect with nature and each other in a meaningful way. The farm is open five or six days a week, offering a haven for young adventurers. It’s a place where kids can experience the joy of caring for animals, from fluffy alpacas and gentle ponies to playful goats and curious mini-pigs. There’s even a resident cat overseeing the hustle and bustle. The Stadtteilfarm Huchting e.V. isn’t just about animals, though. There’s a children’s workshop where young imaginations can run wild. Kids can build, craft, and bring their creative visions to life. And for those eager to explore the world of flavors, cooking classes teach them how to whip up simple, healthy dishes, emphasizing the importance of knowing where our food comes from. What started as a space for children aged 8 to 14 has blossomed into a beloved community hub. The Stadtteilfarm Huchting e.V. welcomes people of all ages, fostering a sense of community and a love for nature. The Stadtteilfarm Huchting e.V. is a testament to the power of dreams. It’s a place where children learn, play, and thrive, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the warmth of community.
