Now bigger events occur elsewhere. These events are held at the Penang State Stadium in Batu Kawan. Indoor events take place at the Penang International Sports Arena.
Many Rapid Penang buses pass near the stadium. Buses 102, 201, 202, 203, 204, 304 and 502 serve the area. The nearest bus stop is along Dato Kramat Road.
Once, the land where it was built was a landfill. Now the City Stadium stands as a testament to Penang’s sporting history. It’s a multi-purpose stadium.
