Picture this a Parisian stadium steeped in history. This is Stade Bauer. It’s more than just a football pitch. It’s a living testament to the enduring spirit of Red Star FC. For over a century Stade Bauer has witnessed triumphs and tribulations. The roar of the crowd the clash of boots on grass. It’s a place where legends were born. A place where dreams took flight.

Stade Bauer opened its gates in 1909. It was initially known as Stade de Saint-Ouen. It quickly became the home of Red Star FC. This club boasts a rich history including five Coupe de France wins. These victories cemented their place in French football folklore. The stadium itself has evolved. It was renovated several times most notably in 1922-1923 1947 and 1975.

But Stade Bauer is more than just a football stadium. In its early years it hosted Olympic football events in 1924. It also hosted a friendly match between Brazil and Andorra before the 1998 FIFA World Cup. The stadium even served as the home ground for the France national rugby league team. These events added to its vibrant history and cultural significance.

However time and neglect took their toll. A storm in 1999 caused significant damage. The stadium fell into disrepair. It even failed to meet safety standards forcing Red Star to play elsewhere for a while. This period was difficult for the club and its devoted fans.

Then came a turning point. In 2021 the city of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine sold Stade Bauer to Groupe Réalités. A massive reconstruction project began. This project aims to modernize the stadium. It also reflects Red Star’s ambitions for a return to Ligue 2. One section a new east stand was inaugurated in January 2024. This new stand alone increased the stadium’s capacity significantly. This was a major step in the reconstruction process.

The renovation is not just about improving the facilities. It’s about preserving a piece of history. The renovated Stade Bauer will once again be a source of pride for the community. It will be a symbol of resilience and the enduring passion for football. As the project progresses we can anticipate a vibrant future for Stade Bauer. This historic stadium will continue to inspire future generations. It will continue to echo with the cheers of passionate fans. This is not simply a stadium. It is a landmark a legacy. It is the heart of Red Star FC and its dedicated fanbase. The story of Stade Bauer is far from over.
