St Winifred’s Catholic Junior School has seen many changes over the years. It’s been a school for over 100 years. It closed in 2016. In its later years, it was known as St Winifred’s Catholic Primary School. St Winifred’s was formed when two schools joined together on April 1, 2016. St Winifred’s Catholic Nursery and Infant School and St Winifred’s Catholic Junior School became a one-site school. They were both part of the Our Lady of Lourdes parish in the diocese of Southwark. The new school was on Newstead Road in Lee, London. St Winifred’s took up the whole block and had a large playground, a MUGA, garden areas, paved and astro-turfed zones. It was a voluntary aided school. It was inclusive, welcoming, and supportive. St Winifred’s had a curriculum which enabled pupils to excel in all areas. The school had high standards of behaviour. Pupils were nurtured, and they reached their full potential. It was no surprise that the school had a very active PTA called “The Friends of St Winifred’s”. The school also had dedicated governors. St Winifred’s had a proud history of teaching children in Lee, London. Every child was respected and valued at St Winifred’s Catholic Junior School.
