A mosaic of St Teresa of Lisieux greets you. It’s on the exterior wall of St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School. This school in Cleveleys is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a testament to faith community and growth. St Teresa’s opened its doors in November 1972. It started small just 56 pupils in temporary buildings. This humble beginning was far from the impressive school it is today.

The school’s aim is clear to nurture the spiritual physical academic and personal abilities of each pupil. They want every child to reach their full potential. This is woven into the fabric of their daily lives. The school’s faith is central to its ethos. Every adult strives to create children who embody their values.

The school grew quickly. By 1992 it became a separate school with 115 pupils. A new two-story building replaced the temporary accommodation in 1994. This building was a massive improvement. It boasted seven spacious classrooms and modern resources. The building continues to grow and adapt. Further building programmes added extended services such as after-school clubs and a breakfast club.

The school’s journey has seen dedicated headteachers lead the charge. Mrs Yates oversaw 21 years of growth. She retired in 2013. Mrs Ankers took the helm ensuring the school continued its mission. Bishop Michael Campbell blessed the most recent building additions in 2012. The school’s growth isn’t just about buildings. It is about the community it serves. The school has two playgrounds landscaped areas and multi-use games areas. They even have a wildlife conservation area. A special feature is the tiled mosaic. It’s a beautiful tribute to their patron saint.

St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School isn’t just a school. It’s a place where faith learning and community intertwine. It’s a testament to the dedication of its staff and the bright futures of its students. It’s a place of growth transformation and a welcoming embrace for all who enter its gates.
