Wasn’t it built in 1910? St Peter’s RC Primary School stands before us a testament to the enduring spirit of education in Edinburgh. This isn’t just any school. It’s a cornerstone of the Morningside community. A place where generations of children have learned and grown. The original building opened in 1910. However the school we see today is newer. It was constructed on the Morningside site and opened its doors in April 2005.

St Peter’s RC Primary School is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a vibrant hub of learning. It’s a Roman Catholic school. It serves a large catchment area in South Edinburgh. This includes the Roman Catholic parish of St Peter’s. It also includes parts of St Columba’s Sacred Heart St Albert the Great and St Patrick’s parishes. The school day starts at 850 am. There’s a morning break at 1030 am followed by lunch at 1200 pm. School finishes at 310 pm for most pupils. P1 and P2 finish slightly earlier at 300 pm. In the afternoon you can find a variety of extra-curricular activities. These range from creative writing to badminton and even sketch club. There are also breakfast and after-school care clubs. These ensure that children are well-cared for throughout the day. The school’s dedication to its pupils is evident in its extensive programs.
