Now, before this beautiful structure stood here, there was another church. It was built in 1867 and could fit 250 souls in its main hall, with another 50 finding room in the gallery. However, imagine this: the congregation grew so large that people had to stand outside during mass, straining to hear the service! This eagerness for worship speaks volumes about the community’s faith. Sadly, that church fell victim to a fire in 1919. It wasn’t until 1960, after the Franciscan Fathers stepped in, that the St. Patrick’s Church we see today was built. Imagine the joy of the parishioners, finally having a new place of worship after years of gathering in makeshift spaces. St. Patrick’s Church is not just a building.
