However, by the late 1990s, the church again faced overcrowding. The decision was made to redevelop, resulting in the distinctive modern building we see today. The current St Mary of the Angels Church, completed in 2003, was designed by WOHA Architects. It’s a stunning example of contemporary architecture, earning accolades like the President’s Design Award in 2006. The church is designed around open spaces, fostering a sense of community. Its high ceilings, pivoting glass walls, and a unique sculpture of Christ create a special atmosphere.
