What happened to the St. James Lutheran Chuch? The church building, once a place of worship, has been transformed into a block of flats. But here’s the interesting part: the original church facade was retained. If you look closely, you can still see the outline of the church, a ghost of its former self. The St. James Lutheran Chuch was dedicated on September 24th, 1956 by Reverend E. Wiebusch, the Vice President of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. The foundation stone, laid on December 18, 1955, still stands as a testament to the church’s history. It bears the inscription, “Eph, 2:19:22 To the Glory of God St James Lutheran Church 18-12-1955”. The church may no longer hold services, but its legacy lives on in the memories of those who worshipped here and in the unique architectural blend of old and new.
