Before the current St Francis, Ruxley Lane church graced this spot, there stood not one, but two churches. Imagine the surprise of those early residents when the old St. Francis building was declared unsafe. The congregation found themselves without a home. Their prayers were answered by the kind hearts of the Ruxley Methodist Church down the road. They opened their doors, offering a temporary haven. This act of kindness blossomed into something even greater. In the year 2000, the congregations of both churches began a journey towards unity. They became a single entity, a beacon of faith for the community. They chose the name “Ruxley Church” to emphasize their shared belief in Jesus Christ. This new beginning culminated in 2013 with the construction of the very building you see today – the modern St Francis, Ruxley Lane church. A testament to the power of unity and the unwavering spirit of faith.
