This area wasn’t always so flowery. In 1928, developers built houses here on a former meadow. This meadow was often flooded by the Biu00e8vre River. The ground was too damp for large Haussmann buildings. So they built smaller, charming houses instead. The street itself opened in 1928. It took its current name that same year.
Look at the five houses bordering Square des Mimosas. They form a harmonious architectural circle. Each house boasts a beautiful facade. Check out number 1. It features one of the tallest passiflora vines in Paris.
Getting here is easy. The T3a tram line is nearby. There were plans to extend metro line 5. However, those plans seem to be on hold now.
Square des Mimosas is a short street. It’s only 13 meters long and 7 meters wide. It begins at 2 Rue des Liserons. It ends in a dead end.
