Trees. Their delicate leaves tremble in the Parisian breeze. We are standing at the entrance to Square des Bouleaux. It’s a tranquil space tucked away amidst the bustling streets of the 19th arrondissement. Square des Bouleaux may not be as grand as some of Paris’s more famous parks. But it holds a unique charm. The square takes its name from the birch trees that grace its grounds. These “bouleaux”, with their elegant white bark, bring a touch of nature to this corner of the city. The square was officially named in 1990. But its history dates back further. Before receiving its current name, it was known simply as “voie CI/19”. Today, Square des Bouleaux stands as a peaceful haven. It offers a quiet respite from the urban hustle and bustle. It is a place where locals and visitors can enjoy a moment of tranquility in the heart of Paris.
