Imagine, in 1885, just a handful of devoted missionaries, seven adults and four children, disembarked in Williamstown. This small group, fueled by an unwavering faith, planted the seeds of Adventism in this very region. Their tireless efforts led to the establishment of churches across Victoria, including the very first one in Williamstown in 1894, a mere 5km from where we stand today. Spotswood Seventh Day Adventist Church, however, wasn’t built until 1953. It rose from the unification of the Newport and Footscray churches, a testament to the growing Adventist community in the western suburbs.
