Drawn to this idyllic scene? This is the Spadener See, a local recreation area. It lies east of Spaden in Schiffdorf. The Spadener See is nestled in the Cuxhaven district of Lower Saxony.

The Spadener See welcomes visitors. For a fee, you can access this still water area. Restrooms are available. Dogs are allowed in the water here.

In the 1970s, the lake emerged during the construction of the autobahn near Bremerhaven. This allowed the creation of a local recreation area.

It sits on a camping site. It is on the eastern edge of Spaden. The Spadener See is just a few kilometers east of Bremerhaven. The Spadener See lies in a moor area.

It spans 16 hectares. It is a popular spot for swimming, camping, angling, and surfing.

Public transport connects to the lake. Since 1984, bus line 8 served the area. In 2020, the call-a-ride taxi line 507 became available. Call-a-ride taxis and shared taxis connect the lake. These services operate even during school holidays.

The Camping and Holiday Park Spadener See is nearby. Just 2 km from the A 27 exit Spaden. The spacious park has separate “villages”. It offers sunny and shady spots in a natural green setting. Campers enjoy a private beach area. It is perfect for sunbathing and cooling off on hot days.

The park offers 220 spaces for permanent campers and mobile homes. There are 110 spots for vacation campers with RVs or tents. Two rental mobile homes are also available. A sandy beach is exclusively for camping guests.

On the lake’s eastern side, Blue Bay Spadener See opened in 2019. This water sports and recreation facility provides diverse activities. Families, athletes, swimmers, and dogs all enjoy it.

The water park has climbing and sliding features. Paddle across the lake with a stand-up paddleboard. On land, play adventure golf. You can also play beach volleyball or boules. There is something for everyone. Blue Bay Spadener See has its own beach, a playground, and a dog beach. A food truck and a beverage bar offer refreshments.

A water ski and wakeboard facility operates here. It includes sliders and ramps. The cable is over one kilometer long. The modern system caters to all skill levels. It provides water fun for beginners and experts alike.
