Southside Castle. A name whispered on the winds of time, echoing tales of bygone eras. Southside Castle stands before you, an L-plan tower house. Though alterations were necessary. The castle was originally four stories tall. It now stands three stories high. The vaulted ceilings have been removed from the wing, but the basement of the main block still boasts its original vault. A two-story extension has been added in the re-entrant angle. These changes, while significant, have not erased the castle’s inherent charm. They whisper of adaptation, a testament to the enduring spirit of this historical gem.
