The Jurong Town Corporation JTC played a vital role. Established in 1968 it planned developed and managed industrial sites. It adapted to economic shifts. It focused on high-technology and capital-intensive industries. It has since been renamed JTC Corporation. Its headquarters moved to JTC Summit. The original Jurong Town Hall a national monument stands as a reminder of its legacy. It is a key element of the Southern Industrial and Logistics Clusters’ history.
The Southern Industrial and Logistics Clusters’ impact extends beyond industry. Residential and recreational amenities were built. This attracted people to live and work there.
