Southbury Primary School serves Ponders End. This area has diverse housing. Some homes date back to the late 1800s. Others were built after the war. The school embraces cultural and ethnic diversity. Over three-quarters of the children speak English as a second language. There are over thirty mother tongues represented. Turkish, Somali and Bengali are the largest groups.
