What lies beneath our feet? Not just the pavement, but a source of refreshment flowing deep underground. Yes, right here at Source Chantereine, we’re standing above a hidden treasure. Source Chantereine isn’t a bubbling spring or a grand fountain. It’s a source tapped deep within the earth, drawing from the Lutetian-Ypresian aquifer. This aquifer, one of the largest in the Île-de-France region, provides a constant flow of naturally pure water.

Discovered in 1967 by Jacques Dubreuil, Source Chantereine quickly became a local gem. Dubreuil recognized the exceptional quality of the water drawn from two boreholes sunk over 100 meters into the earth. He named it “Chantereine,” a name believed to echo the chorus of tree frogs that once serenaded this area. After changing hands a couple of times, the Source Chantereine is now owned by the Roxane/Cristaline group. They bottle and distribute this water, making it a staple on tables across a 120-kilometer radius.

From the depths of the aquifer to the bottles in your hands, the journey takes a mere 5 minutes. The water’s purity is such that it only requires minimal filtering to remove any sandy residue. It undergoes rigorous testing to ensure its quality, with over 50 tests conducted daily. It’s a testament to the natural purity of this hidden water source. So, next time you raise a glass of Cristaline, remember Source Chantereine. It’s a hidden gem, silently flowing beneath our feet.
