Did you know Soul City Church started as a small gathering? It all began in 2010. Pastors Jarrett and Jeanne Stevens had a vision. They wanted to create a church that transformed lives. They chose Chicago’s West Loop a vibrant but challenging neighborhood. Their first services were held in a rented space. The church quickly outgrew its initial location.

Soul City Church wasn’t just another church. It was a movement. It was built on a foundation of faith and community. It focused on personal growth and service. The church embraced everyone regardless of background. It aimed to be an active part of the community. Soul City shared its resources and time with those less fortunate.

The church’s growth was phenomenal. Within a few years it needed a larger space. An unexpected opportunity arose. A neighboring plot of land became available. It seemed like an act of God. This led to the construction of a new building. It opened in 2017 to coincide with the church’s seventh anniversary. The new building was elegant and efficient. It offered a much-needed increase in capacity.

But even the new space couldn’t contain Soul City Church’s rapid growth. Within months it was again at capacity. A third service was added. Weekends saw roughly 2400 people. Special events like Easter pushed attendance even higher. Over 3100 attended one Easter service. This was a remarkable increase. It was nearly a 2000% jump from the church’s original capacity of just 150 people. The soaring ceilings of the new building allowed for unique worship experiences. One Easter included an aerialist and a dramatic veil demonstration.

Soul City Church’s success is remarkable. It’s a testament to the power of vision and community. It’s a story of faith and hard work. The church’s growth continues. It’s a living example of a community transformed by an Only God movement. Its impact extends far beyond its walls. Soul City Church continues to make a difference in Chicago and beyond. The church’s story has only just begun.
