Originally known as SKY SOHO, this sprawling complex is located in Shanghai’s Hongqiao economic park. SKYBRIDGE HQ covers over 86,000 square meters. Its twelve buildings are interconnected by sixteen aerial bridges. These bridges aren’t just pathways. They create a dynamic network that pulses with energy. Imagine walking across one of these bridges. You’re suspended mid-air, looking down at the bustling activity below. SKYBRIDGE HQ houses over 100 businesses. From trendy restaurants to high-end shops, there’s something for everyone. But SKYBRIDGE HQ is more than just a shopping and office complex. It’s a sustainable marvel. It’s LEED Gold pre-certified. This means its design and construction prioritize energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. The building uses a fresh air filtration system. This system filters out 90% of PM2.5, far exceeding national standards. SKYBRIDGE HQ isn’t content with just being beautiful and functional. It aims to create a vibrant and engaging experience for everyone. The landscape architects at TOA Landscape Architecture faced a unique challenge when renovating the grounds. The original design, while visually appealing, lacked comfortable gathering spaces. The sunken square was dominated by hardscape, creating a rigid and uninviting atmosphere. The solution was ingenious. They introduced the concept of “Virtual Trees.” Climbing plants were strategically placed to mimic the look and feel of natural trees, softening the harsh lines of the architecture. The existing waterscapes were also reimagined. They were designed to be multi-functional, serving as both visual focal points and cooling elements. The addition of a misting system transforms the sunken square into a mystical “fog forest.” This not only cools the area but also creates a magical ambiance, especially at night. SKYBRIDGE HQ is a testament to innovative design. It’s a place where architecture, sustainability, and community converge, creating a truly unforgettable experience.
