Approaching Skulptur i tre dele, one might initially see just three iron forms. But look closer. This sculpture by Peter Bonnén isn’t about what’s there. It’s about what’s missing. Skulptur i tre dele sits within Højrisparken, a unique park where streets bear artists’ names. Bonnéns Vej leads you here, to this deceptively simple work. Created from a single form, two zigzag cuts divide the sculpture. These cuts, almost vertical but slightly diagonal, create the defining negative space. This interplay of solid iron and open air is what gives Skulptur i tre dele its energy. Notice the subtle difference in the two gaps created by the cuts. This asymmetry adds a dynamic tension, preventing the sculpture from feeling static. Bonnén’s minimalist style, rooted in his early work with scrap metal assemblages, is evident here.
