Singapore’s biggest outdoor skate park boasts several unique zones. One of these zones is the Skate Drain Pod. It is part of the larger SkatePark at Lakeside Garden. This massive park covers nearly 17000 square meters. The Skate Drain Pod offers a specific challenge for skaters.

The SkatePark at Lakeside Garden is not just for skateboarding. It is also the first in Singapore to include a parkour park. A bouldering wall adds another dimension to the active space. This wall reaches three meters high.

The entire skate park features five distinct skate pods. These pods cater to skaters of different skill levels. Besides the Skate Drain Pod, there is a Learn to Skate Pod for beginners. More experienced skaters can test their skills at the Big Bowl Pod. The Mini Bowl Pod provides an intermediate challenge. A Plaza Pod offers a sheltered space for all-weather skating.

The development of SkatePark at Lakeside Garden involved community input. Sporting communities helped shape the park’s features. Their feedback ensured that the park meets the needs of various users.

SkatePark at Lakeside Garden is open from Tuesday to Friday. The opening hours are from 8 AM to 10 PM. The park closes on Tuesdays for maintenance. However, it remains open if the preceding Monday is a public holiday.

The larger Lakeside Garden offers even more. The northern section features the Rainforest Pavilion. The Ride Side Skate Cafe is located here. It sells food, drinks, and skateboarding equipment. You can even rent a board and sign up for skateboarding lessons here.

Sustainability was a key consideration in the park’s design. The Rainforest Pavilion uses mass-engineered timber. This material comes from sustainably managed forests. The footpaths use a special concrete that captures carbon dioxide. Solar panels on the Plaza Pod’s roof provide renewable energy.

The vision for Jurong Lake Gardens includes nature, play, and community. The Skate Drain Pod and the other skate park facilities contribute to this vision. They provide recreational options for Singaporeans of all ages. The park has already attracted millions of visitors. It is a vibrant hub for sports and recreation. So come test your skills at the Skate Drain Pod.
