Situ Gadung

Gazing across the tranquil waters of Situ Gadung, one can almost feel the whispers of history echoing from its shores. Situ Gadung, nestled in the Pagedangan subdistrict of Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, holds a story deeply intertwined with the neighboring village of Kadusirung. Before they were distinct entities, both were part of Ranca Malang village. Established in 1935 under the leadership of Headman Marhali, Ranca Malang remained unified until 1953. It was then that the village split, giving birth to Situ Gadung in the east and Kadu Sirung in the west. Damin became Situ Gadung’s first village head, initiating a lineage that has seen six leaders guide the community. Today, Situ Gadung comprises eight hamlets and boasts a population of 8,868, with 2,555 families calling it home. Situated south of Pagedangan, the village borders Cisauk subdistrict and the Tigaraksa highway. Its geographical coordinates place it at approximately 106 degrees East longitude and 6 degrees South latitude. The topography is generally low-lying, around 50 meters above sea level. To the north, Situ Gadung is bordered by Pagedangan and Cicalengka villages. Its southern border touches Cisauk subdistrict, while Sampora village lies to the east, and Kadusirung village marks its western boundary.
