Whispers of unity and shared beliefs echoed in a humble restaurant. The year was 1989. This marked the birth of a vision that would soon blossom into the Singapore San Ching Taoism Association. The Singapore San Ching Taoism Association played a pivotal role in the formation of the Taoist Federation of Singapore. This pivotal moment took place within the walls of the Lucky Restaurant. There, a dedicated group, including members of the Singapore San Ching Taoism Association, envisioned a united Taoist community in Singapore. Their discussions and dedication paved the way for the official establishment of the Taoist Federation in February 1990. The Singapore San Ching Taoism Association’s Master Tan Kok Hian, PBM, became the founding Chairman. This solidified the association’s crucial role in shaping the future of Taoism in Singapore. The Taoist Federation, with the Singapore San Ching Taoism Association at its heart, has achieved many milestones since its inception. These range from cultural exhibitions and international exchanges to charitable efforts and interfaith dialogues. The Singapore San Ching Taoism Association’s contributions have not only enriched the Taoist community. They’ve also fostered greater understanding and harmony among different faiths in Singapore.
