Founded in 1950 as Ramp Creek Pentecostal Church Shiloh Pentecostal Church boasts a rich history. It began as a small dedicated group of believers. Their faith and unity were their foundation. The church faced relocation when Monroe Lake was built. However devoted members donated land. This allowed the congregation to build a new church on Fairfax Road. This move demonstrated God’s provision.
Tragedy struck in 1978 when Pastor Raymond Shields passed away. The congregation remained strong electing Pastor Russell Elkins. His leadership saw the church expand its outreach particularly in missions. A visit from a Brazilian family inspired a commitment to global missions. This commitment continues today.
By the early 1990s Shiloh Pentecostal Church outgrew its building again. Pastor Elkins found a 30-acre property on Smithville Road. The transition wasn’t immediate. The church temporarily worshipped in a square dancing hall. This unconventional period showed their resilience.
Pastor Elkins served for over four decades. He led with wisdom compassion and unwavering faith. His legacy of faith and service continues. Shiloh Pentecostal Church stands as a beacon of hope. It has a gymnasium a fellowship hall and a 300+ seat sanctuary. The church’s mission remains to share Christ’s love strengthen families and welcome all.
