Shepton High School

Did you know Shepton High School in Plano Texas wasn’t always a high school? Shepton High School stands proudly at 5505 West Plano Parkway. It opened in 1984. District officials soon decided a middle school was more needed. Renner Middle School moved into the area. A new Shepton High School was built in 1990. It cost 12.5 million dollars. The school returned to its original location. The building underwent many renovations. In 2016 a 481 million dollar bond package included renovations for Shepton. Shepton commemorates an old farming community. This community was near Preston Road on the J W Shepard ranch. Shepton High School’s current principal is Courtney Washington. She was appointed in 2023. Shepton is the second largest freshman sophomore high school in Plano ISD. The school boasts a rich history of academic and extracurricular achievements. Students have won awards in athletics business fine arts and many other programs. The Shepton Chamber Orchestra won a national Mark of Excellence award. The school has a diverse student body with many clubs and organizations. These include AVID PALS student congress robotics and many more. Shepton High School’s success reflects a commitment to excellence. It’s a testament to the dedication of its students staff and community. Remember the name Shepton High School.
