The SF Eagle has seen changes in ownership over the years. Mike Leon and Lex Montiel, prominent figures in San Francisco’s leather community, acquired the bar in 2012. They revitalized the space and strengthened its connection to the community. Sadly, Mike Leon passed away in 2019. Shortly after, the bar faced another challenge: the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these hardships, Lex Montiel continues to uphold the SF Eagle’s traditions. He keeps the spirit of Mike Leon alive. The SF Eagle is more than just a bar.
