Curious about how three neighborhoods became one? That’s the story of \u015eehremini. In 2008 Deniz Abdal Ibrahim \u00c7avu\u015f and Ere\u011fli were combined. Thus \u015eehremini was formed.
\u015eehremini is a well known neighborhood in Fatih. You can enter Suriçi the old Istanbul from Topkapı. Then follow Millet Caddesi towards Fındıkzade. On the right Başvekil Caddesi leads to Kocamustafapaşa. From the left you reach Vatan Caddesi from Çapa Tıp Fakültesi.
Along the Istanbul walls \u015eehremini can be entered through Topkapı Mevlanakapı or Silivrikapı. Once inside note the area’s size. \u015eehremini covers just 0.46 square kilometers.
Two large hospitals serve this community. These are Çapa Tıp Fakültesi and Bezmiâlem Vakıf Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi.
\u015eehremini boasts several mosques. Architect Mimar Sinan designed the Has Odabaşı Camii in Odabaşı. Gazi Ahmet Paşa Camii is in Kaleiçi on the left after entering from old Topkapı. Merkezefendi Camii is visible across from Mevlanakapı exit. Other notable mosques include Çivizade Örümceksiz İskenderağa Caferağa İbrahim Çavuş Melek Hatun and Sormagir Camiileri.
Near Çapa Hospital on the right towards Topkapı is a police station. Across from it is an IETT garage. The main street of \u015eehremini is opposite the police station. Here you’ll find a large park and a children’s park. As you descend towards Fındıkzade on the right is \u015eehremini Anadolu Lisesi. This historic high school shares the neighborhood’s name. Opposite is Çapa Fen Lisesi.
In 2023 \u015eehremini had a population of 19271. This figure shows a clear decrease from 2009. Back then the population was over 23000. The neighborhood is managed by a Muhtar and a council.
