Imagine beachgoers in old-fashioned bathing suits. That’s just a small part of what the Seebadmuseum Travemünde holds. This museum tells the story of Travemünde as a seaside resort. It covers from its beginnings in 1802 to the present day.

Welcome to the Seebadmuseum Travemünde. Here, the Heimatverein Travemünde e.V. has been running the museum since 2007. They present the history of Travemünde in an engaging way. The 180 square meter exhibition is located in Torstraße 1. It is right on the Travemünde market square.

The Seebadmuseum Travemünde is open from March 1st to December 31st. Tourists, school groups, and locals can visit. The museum is open daily except Mondays. The opening times are from 11 AM to 5 PM.

Inside the Seebadmuseum Travemünde, you will find films and listening stations. Many exhibits cover topics like swimwear and fishing. Shipping and aviation are also represented. These elements vividly bring Travemünde’s history to life.

Since 2021, the Seebadmuseum Travemünde has offered a virtual tour. This tour starts with a 3D dollhouse view. It provides an overview of how the rooms connect. Users can click and look around at each location in 360 degrees. Clicking on the floor allows continuing the virtual tour. This should encourage a visit to the real exhibition.

Visiting the Seebadmuseum Travemünde is inexpensive. Adults pay an entrance fee of 6 euros. Pupils, students, and disabled persons pay 3.50 euros. Members of the Heimatverein Travemünde e.V. pay only 2 euros. Owners of the Ostseecard pay 5 euros.
