Seagoville High School serves students in grades 9 through 12. It is part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school serves the DISD portion of Seagoville. It also serves parts of Dallas including Kleberg. The DISD portion of Combine is served by Seagoville High School too. Wright Farms is located in Dallas and assigned to this school.
The high school opened in 1928. Land was purchased in 1927 for it. In 1929 the school colors and mascot were chosen. The facility served as a community center as well. A fire destroyed the high school building in September 1957. Central Elementary School opened on the former site. The current high school and Seagoville Middle School opened later. M.D. Reeves donated a 22-acre plot. One building opened in 1955. The other opened in September 1958. Seagoville High School was originally in the Seagoville Independent School District. It became part of DISD in August 1964.
The school song is “Dear Old Seagoville High.” Brother William Greenhaw wrote it in the 1940s.
In January 1929 the first school newspaper debuted. It was named Boll Weevil. Dan Gross was the first football coach.
Seagoville High School teams are known as the Dragons. They compete in many sports. These include baseball and basketball. Cross country and football are also included. Students can participate in golf and soccer. Softball and swimming are options. Diving tennis track and field are available. Volleyball and wrestling round out the options.
Seagoville High School requires uniforms. This started in the 2005-2006 school year. The Texas Education Agency allows parents to request a waiver. They can opt out of the uniform policy. Parents must specify valid reasons for the waiver.
In 2008 the school required a student to remove a rosary. The school considered it a gang symbol. In 2015 Seagoville High School suspended a student. The student wore an American flag T-shirt.

LaMarcus Aldridge attended Seagoville. He played professional basketball. Donald Sloan also graduated from Seagoville. He played for Texas A and M and professional basketball. Moises Hernandez played professional soccer for FC Dallas.
In 2023 the Texas Education Agency rated Seagoville High School as “Met Standard.” In 2021-2022 the accountability rating was a C.
