Imagine the bustling energy of students and faculty. It surrounds the construction site for the School of Management Phase III. This new addition to the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas promises a future filled with innovation and growth.
The School of Management Phase III is not just another building. It represents a significant leap forward for the Jindal School. The university broke ground on this $98 million project on October 8. The project is expected to be completed in May 2026.
This three-story building will add 125,000 square feet to the campus. It will house the Jindal School’s undergraduate and executive education programs. The business communications program will also call it home. An artificial intelligence lab and a Starbucks will be included. The dean’s offices will also find a new home here.
The existing Jindal School buildings are bursting at the seams. They house 51 classrooms. Five computer labs, a dining hall, and a 350-seat auditorium are there. These buildings accommodate nearly 11,000 students. There are also 270 full-time faculty, 130 adjunct faculty, 235 staff, and 125 PhD students.
Dr. Hasan Pirkul is the Caruth Chair and dean of the Jindal School. He expressed his excitement for the new building. He noted the difficulty in accommodating everyone in the current space. The School of Management Phase III will provide much-needed relief.
UT System Regent Christina Melton Crain spoke at the groundbreaking. She expressed her admiration for the growth at UT Dallas. She noted that new spaces are essential for fueling innovation. She said generations of students will benefit from the new addition.
The Jindal School has a rich history. It was founded in 1975. In 2003, a 204,000-square-foot building opened. A four-story, 108,000-square-foot facility connected to the first building in 2014. The School of Management Phase III will stand next to the first addition on the east side.
The new building will feature new classrooms. Additional meeting spaces will be included. New faculty and staff offices will also find a home here. The artificial intelligence lab will allow students to analyze technology’s impact on business.
