Deep within Quezon City, a beacon of faith stands tall. This is the San Isidro Labrador Parish Church. Its story is one of devotion, community, and perseverance.

San Isidro Labrador Parish Church started as a humble chapel in Pinyahan. Parishioners worked hard and showed great initiative. Their efforts led to the creation of the San Isidro Labrador Quasi-Parish in 2006.

Finally, on July 21, 2018, it was solemnly dedicated. It became the San Isidro Labrador Parish. Rev. Fr. Jun Arvie Bello, the former Parish Priest, played a crucial role.

Now let’s jump back in time a bit. In 1951, the San Isidro Parish Church had a temporary home. It was located in a building on Dominga Street. Services continued without interruption. Construction of a permanent church began. Msgr. Emmanuel Magtanong Cruz oversaw the full construction.

The altar is a focal point. It was consecrated on September 15, 1966. Behind it is a depiction of the crucifixion. This can be seen from inside the Church. Fr. Lari Abaco enhanced the background behind the altar.

The exterior of San Isidro Parish Church received a fresh look in August 2006. The back wall was also repainted.

A historical marker stands at the Multi-Purpose Building. It was blessed on September 24, 2006. This coincided with the 55th Founding Anniversary of the Parish. It also marked the 2nd year observance of Parish Week.

The marker tells the story of San Isidro Parish Church in Pasay City. It explains how the territory of San Isidro became a separate parish. This happened on September 21, 1951. Msgr. Emmanuel Magtanong Cruz became its first Parish Priest.

Construction of the Church building began in 1961. Msgr. Cruz led the effort. Parishioners and benefactors generously cooperated. The altar was consecrated on September 15, 1968. The late Rufino J. Cardinal Santos performed the blessing.

Many priests have served San Isidro Parish Church. Msgr. Emmanuel Magtanong Cruz served from 1951 to 1976. Msgr. Clemente Lopez followed from 1976 to 1995. Rev. Fr. Francisco M. Ungria Jr. served from 1995 to 2000. Rev. Fr. Lazaro B. Abaco served from November 1, 2000, to April 26, 2005. Msgr. Severino O. Lorica, a former Parochial Vicar, became incumbent on April 29, 2005.

Msgr. Severino O. Lorica blessed the Historical Marker. This took place during the annual Parish Week celebration. It also marked the 55th Anniversary of the Parish Foundation. Benefactors and parishioners witnessed the Parish’s growth. It was a celebration of its humble beginnings.

San Isidro Labrador Parish Church is more than just a building. It is a testament to faith and community. It is a place where history and devotion intertwine. Take a moment to appreciate the rich history of this sacred place.
