Originally located in Auckland’s inner city CBD for 131 years, the Salvation Army Community Church relocated to its current location on Allright Place in July 2014. This move marked a new chapter, not just for the church, but also for the surrounding communities of Pakuranga, Mt Wellington, Glen Innes, Onehunga, and Remuera. The relocation allowed the Salvation Army Community Church to expand its services beyond Sunday worship. Today, it houses an early childhood center, a family store, a midweek cafe, and various community ministries. The church also provides children’s programs, a music academy, addiction counseling services, and hosts the charity Feed the Need. This charity prepares and supplies hot meals during the winter months to several low-decile schools in South Auckland. The Salvation Army Community Church embraces a rich musical tradition. Their brass band, choral group (songsters), and music team create a vibrant worship experience every Sunday at 10:30 am.
