From a humble beginning, Saint Pius X Parish Church has become a beacon of faith in Paco, Manila. Established on March 29, 1968, Saint Pius X Parish Church stands at the corner of Neptuno and 7th Street, Onyx Avenue. The church’s story intertwines with the Apostleship of Prayer’s journey in the Philippines. This organization, devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, began its mission in France in 1844. Eventually, the Apostleship of Prayer reached the Philippines, establishing centers at Ateneo de Manila, University of Sto. Tomas, and Concordia College. It’s even believed that Jose Rizal, during his time at Ateneo, was an early member. From Concordia College, the devotion spread to Saint Pius X Parish Church, located just a short distance away. In June 1984, seven pioneers laid the foundation for the Apostleship of Prayer at Saint Pius X Parish Church. These pioneers, including Alelie Jonson and Lenie Laguitan, began recruiting members after attending a seminar at San Carlos Seminary. Just two years later, a Sacred Heart of Jesus image was erected, solidifying the organization’s presence. Today, Saint Pius X Parish Church continues to serve the community, holding mass Monday through Saturday at 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. Sunday mass is celebrated at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 am, and again at 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, and 7:00 pm. The church’s pastor, Fr. Lincoln N. Carabaña, leads the congregation.
