The Reverend C. D. Knight had a vision. He wanted to build a church in Dallas where the community could come together. He gathered sixty-three parishioners and with the support of other clergymen, they formed the Saint Paul Baptist Church on February 9, 1952. Saint Paul Baptist Church was initially hosted by Bethel Baptist Church until they found their own space. They worshipped with Midway Baptist Church for a few months before securing their own property on Pear Street in August of 1953. They purchased a house and parsonage but soon realised that the facilities were not adequate for their growing congregation. Eventually, the Saint Paul Baptist Church moved into its present sanctuary on October 13, 1963. It was a significant moment for the church and a testament to the hard work and dedication of its members. Standing here, in front of the grand structure, you can feel the spirit of that moment.
