Welcome to Saint John’s United Methodist Church, nestled right in the heart of Allandale. This vibrant, growing church has deep roots in the community, dating back to the mid-20th century. Saint John’s is more than just a place of worship; it’s a community center, a beacon for those seeking spiritual solace, and a place where connections are made.
Originally, a small group of Methodists gathered in 1948 on Burnet Road, dreaming of a church that would reach beyond the city limits, a sanctuary where families could find growth, and where everyone could be welcomed. Their dream came true when they purchased the current property in Allandale and built their church home. It’s been a source of comfort, fellowship, and guidance for countless people throughout the years.
The church continued to flourish, opening its doors to the community and serving as a pillar of social justice. In 2014, Saint John’s adopted a strategic plan based on a mission of connection, inclusion, openness, justice, and mission. Today, Saint John’s is known for its welcoming spirit, its commitment to social change, and its embrace of diversity. The church is a testament to the belief that God’s love changes people, and God’s people change the world.
