Is this heaven? No, it’s just Saint Cletus Church. Right here before you, in the suburb of La Grange, around 20 miles west of downtown Chicago, stands Saint Cletus Church. This Roman Catholic Church, established in 1951, has been a beacon of faith for generations, serving a diverse community from surrounding villages like Burr Ridge, Willow Springs, and beyond. Originally, the ever-growing congregation of Saint Cletus Church held their first mass at the United Auto Workers Civic Center. But soon, a new home was needed. The first building, a combined church and school, opened its doors in 1953, followed by the dedication of a permanent church in 1954. However, the story doesn’t end there. The expansion continued with a new church and rectory in 1961, culminating in a magnificent Christmas Eve Mass that same year. Today, Saint Cletus Church, with its rich history and vibrant community, stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith and fellowship in the heart of La Grange.
