It began in 1879, a beacon of faith for Chicago’s burgeoning Catholic community. The original structure, brimming with life and the joyous sounds of a growing parish, eventually gave way to a new era. In 1990, the doors to the old church closed, its legacy carefully transferred to this magnificent cathedral. This Saint Augustine’s, still standing strong, carries the whispers of generations past.
