Since 1923, what stories have echoed through these halls of Saint Anne School? On August 26, 1923, Bishop Edward J. O’Dea dedicated Saint Anne School. It stood ready to serve God and the Church. This happened in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood.

The Sisters of the Holy Names were the first teachers. Classes began September 4, 1923. There were 150 students in eight grades. Saint Anne School has changed over the years. It has also grown. A large expansion and remodel finished in 2002.

Saint Anne School is a ministry of St. Anne Parish. It is one of 13 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Seattle’s North Seattle deanery. The school teaches Catholic faith. It shows examples in the community. This passes the faith to many generations. These include students and parish families. Saint Anne received its third accreditation in 2018. It was a 6-year term from The Western Catholic Education Association. Tuition, parish support, and fundraising keep the school going.

Today, teachers and staff serve over 260 students. These students are in kindergarten through 8th grade. There is also a Pre-Kindergarten classroom. It has 20 children in a half-day program. The school is almost full. More people have applied recently. Each grade has one classroom. Kindergarten through 4th grade classes have 26 students max. 5th through 8th grade classes have no more than 28 students. Most families belong to St. Anne Parish. About 8% of students are minorities. About 10% of families get financial aid.

Saint Anne School provides a quality Catholic education. It forms students into active people of faith. It wants them to be life-long learners. They should also be globally aware.
