Now, let us step back in time a bit more. Archaeological sites were found in the Jdeideh area. Jesuit fathers discovered them. These sites revealed Heavy Neolithic flints. These flints are from the Qaraoun culture. Imagine people crafting tools here millennia ago.

There are three notable sites. Jdeideh I, II, and III. Jdeideh I lies northeast of town. Raoul Describes found tools from various periods there. These included Acheulean to Neolithic eras. Jdeideh II revealed Upper Paleolithic tools. Auguste Bergy found these. Jdeideh III, also found by Bergy, contained Gigantolithic tools. These included massive choppers and scrapers.

In 2014, Christians represented 76.40% of registered voters in Jdeideh. Maronite Catholics formed 43.62% of the voters. Sunni Muslims were 16.48%. Greek Orthodox Christians accounted for 11.56%. Greek Catholics made up 8.65%. This gives you an idea of the religious diversity in the area.
