“An associated street?” you ask. Rue Pierrette may be just that. It is a street in Drancy.
Unfortunately, my friends, the history of Rue Pierrette itself remains a mystery for now. I cannot tell you about its buildings or famous residents. However, I can share a glimpse into the world that surrounds it. We can explore related Parisian streets.
Let’s wander virtually to the 8th arrondissement. Here, we find Rue Pierre Charron. Pierre Charron was a philosopher. He was a friend of Montaigne. Avenue Montaigne is nearby. Rue Pierre Charron is near the Avenue Montaigne high-fashion district.
The street was once part of Rue de Morny. It stretched to Place d’Iéna. Part of it was renamed Avenue Pierre Ier de Serbie in 1918.
Le Gerny’s was a nightclub on Rue Pierre-Charron. Edith Piaf debuted there. Louis Leplee discovered her. He called her “la môme Piaf”. This means “The Little Sparrow”. She performed there in 1935.
If you’re nearby, you can reach Rue Pierre Charron via metro. The closest stations are George V and Franklin D. Roosevelt on line 1. Saint-Philippe du Roule on line 9 is to the north. Alma-Marceau on line 9 is to the south.
Interestingly, Rue Pierre Charron is mentioned in Renaud’s “Les Charognards.”
While we cannot directly link Rue Pierre Charron to Rue Pierrette, they share a Parisian connection. Both are part of the vast network of streets that make up this iconic city.
