What remains of Roxburgh Homestead has witnessed the changing face of Melbourne. Before this bustling suburb existed, this land was part of a vast property called “Roxburgh”. This name was a tribute to a place in Scotland, carried across the oceans by a farmer named Thomas Brunton around 1885. While the original homestead structures might be gone, a new chapter began in 1997. Roxburgh Homestead Primary School opened its doors, welcoming 214 students.
