“Riversdale Park, I choose you!” Imagine that’s what Melbourne residents exclaimed when planning a celebration. Riversdale Park is a versatile space. It is located at 661 Riversdale Rd, Camberwell.

Riversdale Park offers open grass areas. Mature trees are scattered throughout the park, creating perfect photo backdrops. The park is suitable for children’s play, picnics, weddings, and other celebrations. With a capacity of 300 people, it is a popular place for family and community gatherings.

Riversdale Park has public facilities. These are free for all park visitors. There is a barbecue for cooking up tasty meals. A drinking fountain provides refreshment. Children can enjoy the playground. There are also seating and tables. Public toilets are available for convenience.

For exclusive use, you can book a grass area in Riversdale Park. However, you need to give at least 5 full business days’ notice. You can apply to bring up to 30 chairs and 3 tables. Also, a marquee or arbour covering up to 40 square metres is possible.

Riversdale Park has a playground. The playground is well-maintained. It features a large partially covered structure suitable for toddlers and older children. The main wooden structure includes large twin slides and a smaller curved slide. Kids can access it by stairs, a ladder, or a climbing wall. There are four swings including one with a harness. A variety of rope structures are available for climbing. You can also find a clock, a maze puzzle, two springers, and a family-size see-saw. A large rotating carousel provides fun for the whole family. Shaded seating sits at the edge of the playground. An adjacent covered double BBQ has picnic-table seating and water bubblers. The playground is located well away from the road.

Riversdale Park is next to the East Camberwell Tennis Club. You can park off Spencer Road in front of the tennis club. The park is a short walk from Riversdale Station. Tram number 70 also stops nearby.

Riversdale Park is available for booking seven days a week, including public holidays. From April to October, the park is open from 8 am to 6 pm. From November to March, the park is open from 8 am to 8:30 pm.
