The River Grove Bible Church stands tall on Rhodes Avenue, a testament to faith and community. It’s not just a brick and mortar building, but a place where history comes alive. Its story is deeply rooted in the merging of two churches, the River Grove Baptist Church and the Little Gray Church, in the 1940s. The two congregations, united by their shared evangelical beliefs, sought a stronger presence in River Grove. In 1949, after a series of discussions and with the generous assistance of Cicero Bible Church, they merged, taking the name “River Grove Bible Church.” A new church building was built on the property on Rhodes Avenue, dedicated in 1952. The church continued to grow, with a second phase of the building project being completed in 1957. Today, the River Grove Bible Church continues to serve its community, holding services every week and offering various programs for all ages. It’s a true beacon of faith and fellowship, a testament to the power of unity and shared purpose.
