The reasons for this shift remain shrouded in the mists of time. Perhaps a transaction, perhaps something more dramatic. Ristrup has seen many owners come and go. Fast forward to 1755. The current main building of Ristrup takes shape. It stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of this historic estate. Ristrup’s story continues through the centuries. Names like Gotskalk Rostrup, Hans Rostrup, and Jens Nielsen Munk grace the list of owners. Each left their mark, adding to the rich tapestry of Ristrup’s history. The estate’s history whispers tales of noble families, dramatic changes in ownership, and the constant ebb and flow of life in the Danish countryside. In 1836, a young man named Fritz Momsen traveled through Jutland, searching for the perfect farm. His autograph book survives to this day. In it, a poem penned by Ludvig Rahr, signed “Ristrup, 12th February 1836,” offers a glimpse into Ristrup’s past. Today, Ristrup stands on 320 hectares. It continues to evolve, adapting to the changing times while holding onto the echoes of its past. From a grand manor to a modern hotel, Ristrup has played many roles.
