Did you know Ringwood Secondary College started in 1954 as Ringwood High School? It was one of the first schools built in the Light Timber Construction style. This innovative design helped address a shortage of high school places in the 1950s.
Ringwood Secondary College is a co-educational public school. It’s located right here in the eastern suburb of Ringwood. The college provides education for students in years 7 through 12. Older students in years 11 and 12 participate in the VCE program. Approximately 1460 students are currently enrolled.
The college offers a wide range of VCE subjects. Students can also participate in the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning program. Ringwood Secondary College has a developed a center of excellence. This focuses on Automotive Engineering and Manufacturing.
Ringwood Secondary College has a fantastic Music and Performing Arts Program. It includes three concert bands. There are also four stage bands and three string ensembles. Two choirs round out the program. The school has received awards in recent competitions. These include the Melbourne School Bands Festival and the Royal South Street Competition. Awards have been given for stage bands, string ensembles, and the symphonic orchestra.

Ringwood Secondary College also boasts a strong alumni network. Several notable individuals attended the school. These include AFL players Mark Bolton and Oscar McInerney. Actors Geoff Paine and John Wood are also alumni. Keith Wolahan, a Federal Politician, is also an alumni.
The Ringwood Secondary College community extends beyond its current students. The Heritage and Alumni group supports reunions. They promote celebrations and foster student recognition.
