Imagine stepping back in time to 1688. That’s when Restaurant Kockshusen was built. This building has seen centuries pass. It has evolved through many roles.

Restaurant Kockshusen wasn’t always a restaurant. Initially, it served as lodging for clergy from Schloss Schellenberg. They rested and resided within these very walls.

Fast forward to the early 20th century. The building transformed into a canteen. It served the road construction workers of the time. It was during this era that its current name was born. People called it Kockshusen. This translates to “cookhouse”.

In the 1940s, Restaurant Kockshusen became the restaurant it is today. Since then, the building has hosted countless guests. Many celebrations have occurred within these walls. Numerous restaurateurs have also shaped its history.

In 2009, Willi Hachenberg took over. He redesigned and reopened Restaurant Kockshusen. He brought a fresh vision to this historic place.

Today, Restaurant Kockshusen offers a delightful experience. Guests rave about the cuisine and friendly service. The ambiance is beautiful. Everything is freshly prepared.

Regulars note the chef Herr Hachenbach. He has successfully blended traditional and modern cooking styles. The menu is always interesting.

The popular “Querbeet” event occurs every Thursday. It starts at 5 PM. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes. Note that à la carte is unavailable on “Querbeet” days. Reservations are recommended.

Restaurant Kockshusen is more than just a restaurant. It is a place with a history. It is a place that combines tradition with innovation. The only point of criticism are the sanitary facilities, which need renovation.
