No wonder, in 1917, he was elected mayor, a position he held until 1920. Even after leaving office, Hildebrand continued his work in social welfare, founding the Bremen Emergency Relief organization in 1922. This fountain, erected in 1933 for his 80th birthday, features a proud deer with its young. It reflects not just the grace of nature, but also the enduring legacy of a compassionate leader who served Bremen with unwavering dedication.
